A Guide on the Water Treatment for Your Spa/Swimming Pool

If you own a spa or a swimming pool, it is your responsibility to keep it clean. Moreover, special attention must be paid to the water of the pool/spa and efforts must be made to keep it crystal clear and sparkling. The first thing that must be done by any spa/pool owner is to buy pool filter cartridges. In USA, one of the trusted filters is Conger Brothers Spa filter. The filter purifies the water of the spa/pool in the best possible manner and provides a safe spa/pool to the user.

Once you have installed a filter in your spa/pool, half of your work gets finished but, the second half work includes water treatment and testing. This must be performed when required, so that the water of the spa always remains crystal clear.

Wate treatment guide

Let us have a look at how to conduct a water treatment and test for the spa and swimming pool.

  • Clean the skimmer baskets and pump from time to time.
  • Always keep a check on the water level and ensure that it is halfway up the skimmer box. The water level should never be too high, else skimming will not work.
  • The cartridges should be cleaned at regular intervals to prevent them from clogging. Cartridges like Conger Brothers spa filter cartridges are durable and work efficiently. However, they too need to be cleaned from time to time.
  • If you feel that the water of the spa/pool remains dirty, try and increase the filtration time.

Water Treatment

Weekly tasks:

  • Remove the filters and use a garden hose to clean them.
  • Add chlorine to the pool water and keep the pump running for around 20 minutes.
  • Keep an eye on the alkalinity level and pH. If required, make adjustments.
  • Make sure that the water of the swimming pool is not cloudy. If it is cloudy, use a
  • water clarifier. In the same manner, if the spa is foaming, use a de-foamer.

Monthly tasks:

  • The filters need a deep cleaning session once in a month. If this is not possible, make sure you deep clean them at least once in every two months. Soak the filters in a cleaning solution and leave them overnight. Next day, clean the cartridges using a garden hose and leave them to dry

By performing the above mentioned tasks, the water of your swimming pool/spa will remain crystal clear and you can be assured that you are relaxing in clean water each time you take a dip into your spa/pool
